The Town of Bancroft is seeking proposals from qualified consulting engineering firms to
provide a fee proposal for professional engineering and streetscape design services to:
A. COMPLETE A DETAILED DESIGN FOR THE PROJECT
PART 1
Detailed project design for the rehabilitation of Highway 62 N (Hastings St. N.) to be
completed in 2021 which will include: surveying, rehabilitation of the existing asphalt,
complete grading and drainage reconstruction, traffic signal improvements, intersection
improvements, assessment of the water and waste/water infrastructure, new stormwater
infrastructure in the north end of the project area, and culvert replacement.
PART 2
The project area lies within the Town of Bancroft’s urban area and Hastings Street North is
also the Town’s main street. The intention of the Town is to complete the rehabilitation of
Hastings Street in accordance with the expectations of the connecting link program but to
ensure that streetscape improvements can be completed concurrently or that the
opportunity to complete streetscape improvements on a phased basis in subsequent years
is not complicated by the rehabilitation project. Accordingly, the Town expects the
successful engineering consultant to carry a streetscape design professional on the project
team to implement the Town’s streetscape vision (see appendix 1) and support the detailed
engineering design effort.
B. PROVIDE CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION OF THE COMPLETE REHABILITATION OF A
SECTION OF HIGHWAY 62N (HASTINGS ST. N)
Full contract administration for the construction to be completed in 2021 and 2022.
Engineering design of the road rehabilitation and streetscape enhancements will be the
main focus of work completed in 2021. With the complexity of the scope of work, The Town
of Bancroft anticipates that most of the construction work will be completed in 2022.
