REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
APRON I EAST RECONSTRUCTION ELECTRICAL WORKS

The St. John's Airport Authority Inc. (SJIAA) is inviting qualified Airfield Electrical Contractors to submit a proposal for the Airfield Electrical Rehabilitation portion of the upcoming Apron I East Reconstruction Project.
The project is part of the progression of the St. John's Airport proposed $28 million, 4-year airside infrastructure upgrades program and will include the rehabilitation of the airside pavements, lighting, drainage systems and other airside safety enhancements. The program is jointly funded by the SJIAA and the Transport Canada ACIP (Airports Critical Infrastructure Program).
The works proposed under this proposal generally includes:
- Remove and salvage existing inset and elevated airfield lighting equipment
- Remove and dispose off-site existing obsolete cabling, conduits, pullpits, edge light stakes and inset light base cans
- Install salvaged and/or new Owner-supplied elevated airfield lighting equipment complete with new mounting stakes, secondary conduit/cable, retro-reflective rods and all accessories
- Supply and install new retro-reflective taxiway edge markers
- Supply and install new inset light base can assemblies complete including base can bottom sections, top sections, adjustment rings, snowplow rings and all accessories
- Supply and install new inset light base can top sections onto existing base can bottom sections c/w adjustment rings, snowplow rings and all accessories
- Install salvaged or new Owner-supplied inset airfield lighting equipment on new or existing inset base cans
- Provide all pavement coring, excavation and concrete encasement associated with the inset lighting equipment
- Provide all trenching, concrete encasement, backfill, and compaction associated with the airfield lighting equipment installation
- Install new Owner-supplied airfield lighting power and control equipment in the Field Electrical Centre
- Provide all related electrical enclosures, chambers, pullpits, cabling, raceways and connections
- Provide temporary connections and work as necessary to accommodate the construction sequencing plans and maintain the operation of airfield lighting systems outside of the defined Work Areas
- Provide all other related work as specified and indicated on the Drawings and in the Specifications
Interested Proponents must submit a Proposal in the prescribed format and within the time limit established herein.
