DESCRIPTION OF PROCUREMENT
Renovations to Science Wing Building Room SW435 Laboratory

Design and Construction Management requires general Contracting services for the interior renovation of approximately 65 square meters (m2) of laboratory space for the Department of Biological Sciences on the fourth floor of the Science Wing Building.

Work included is as follows:

Selective abatement of floor mastic as needed during demolition and coring for new floor drain.

Demolition and removal of existing mechanical ducting.
Painting and patching of existing walls, and installation of new casework. Rebuilding of existing mechanical trench support, patching repair of existing flooring.
New power and data outlets.
New floor drain.

The procurement will not involve negotiation. An electronic auction is not anticipated.

The University will be conducting a virtual Proponents Meeting. Pass/Fail
Virtual Proponents Meeting will be held on June 18, 2020 at 10:00 am (local time).
Proponents are to register in advance for this meeting, by clicking on, or entering the link provided in the Request for Proposal document.

Submissions must be submitted electronically at

on or before July 14, 2020 at 2:00:00 p.m. local time.
The submissions will not be opened publicly.

CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION
The procurement is subject to the following conditions for participation: Proponents must achieve a minimum score of 70% of each rated criteria category, 1 through 3.
Proponents will adhere to the University of Toronto General Labour Conditions

APPLICABLE TRADE AGREEMENTS
This procurement is subject to the following trade agreement(s):
The Canadian Free Trade Agreement, Chapter Five
The Ontario-Quebec Trade and Cooperation Agreement, Chapter 9

CONTRACT DETAILS
One time only purchase of services for specified scope of work.
Milestone schedule:
Earliest Project construction for general Contractor: Week of July 27
Substantial completion by September 23, 2020
