DESCRIPTION OF PROCUREMENT
The University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) invites proponents to submit bids on the laundry equipment for a new residence building. The new residence is a passive house residence building under construction (expected opening September 2023) containing a total of 744 beds.
A passive house is a type of building that is designed to use very little energy for heating and cooling. This is achieved through a combination of highly efficient insulation, airtight construction, and carefully designed windows and ventilation systems. Passive house designs are known for their exceptional energy efficiency compared to conventional buildings. Considering the energy efficiency of the building, the laundry equipment must meet a strict energy model in order to qualify as a passive house design.
UTSC requires 16 washers and 16 dryers to be delivered and installed in the basement floor of the new residence building.
An electronic auction is not anticipated.
