DESCRIPTION OF PROCUREMENT
Exterior Glazing Replacement to the 6th Floor Science Wing
Design and Construction Management requires professional engineering, fabrication and installation services to supply and install new exterior commercial glazing in all existing locations on Level 6 of the Science Wing Building at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus.
The glazing replacement project includes for the replacement of approximately 240.0 square meters of exterior commercial glazing on Level 6 of the Science Wing. The glazing replacement will consist of two methods of installment. One method will include a retrofit to the existing clear glazing. The other method will include adding spandrel panel to conceal existing glazing.
Refer to Appendices for details.
Installation is scheduled to occur July 1, 2021 through to September 15, 2021 to accommodate research requirements located on the 6th floor of the Science Wing.

Work included is as follows:

Installation of a fall arrest lifeline on the Level 5 roof where the skylights are located. Lifeline is to be utilized for installation of scaffolding.
Installation of interior hoarding on Level 2 of the Science Wing. Hoarding to be located below the skylights.
Scaffolding to be installed on the Level 5 roof where the skylights are located. Scaffolding is to serve as a working platform, and to be located over top of the skylights.
Replacement of exterior glazing as detailed in Appendix 1 and 2.

The procurement will not involve negotiation. An electronic auction is not anticipated.

The submissions will not be opened publicly.

CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION
The procurement is subject to the following conditions for participation: Proponents must achieve a minimum score of 70% for the technical submission.
Proponents will adhere to the University of Toronto General Labour Conditions

APPLICABLE TRADE AGREEMENTS
This procurement is subject to the following trade agreement(s):
The Canadian Free Trade Agreement, Chapter Five
The Ontario-Quebec Trade and Cooperation Agreement, Chapter 9

CONTRACT DETAILS
One time only purchase of services for specified scope of work.
Milestone schedule:
Earliest project construction for general contractor: July 1, 2021
Substantial completion by September 10, 2021.
