Description

Innis College at the St. George campus occupies the original college building dating from 1974. Increasing student enrollment and new pedagogocal delivery methods have precipitated a space crisis at the college. To alleviate the situation and address the major deficiencies of the existing building, the construction of a new addition and renovation of the east wing is required.

The intent is to create a new set of functional, inviting, and flexible spaces to serve the needs of the current Innis community, with an eye to future growth and changing uses. The Innis community has prided itself on its innovative and inclusive spirit for more than 50 years and deserves nothing less than a College environment that not only meets its needs but also reflects its vitality.

The University wishes to pursue a design of high calibre that reflects the importance of this building to the University’s aspirations. In issuing this RFSQ document (Stage 1), the University is seeking to shortlist 4 to 5 individual design-oriented architectural practices. Successful (shortlisted) Respondents will receive the comprehensive RFP (Stage 2) for full design and technical consultation services.
