DESCRIPTION OF PROCUREMENT
The University is conducting an RFP for Optical Monitor for Metabolic Rate of Oxygen Consumption
The University of Toronto, with support from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, is looking to purchase a combination frequency-domain near infrared spectroscopy and diffuse correlation spectroscopy device. The device will be housed in the 4th floor of the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport (100 Devonshire Place) at the University of Toronto, St. George campus.
This device will form a central component of the Cardiovascular Exercise Physiology Laboratory within the Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education.
The Cardiovascular Exercise Physiology Laboratory investigates how oxygen delivery is matched to the active muscle’s oxygen demand during physical activity.
The combination frequency-domain near infrared spectroscopy and diffuse correlation spectroscopy device will contribute to such investigations by assessing muscle oxygenation as well as relative blood flow. This device will be applied during both static and dynamic physical activities.
The procurement is anticipated to involve negotiation. An electronic auction is not anticipated.
