DESCRIPTION OF PROCUREMENT
This Request for Tender (“RFT”) is an invitation by Facilities Management and Planning at the University of Toronto Mississauga (“UTM”) on behalf of The Governing Council of the University of Toronto (the “University”) to prospective bidders to submit Tenders for the provision of Davis Building Block A & BC Corridor and Elevator Lobby Renovations – Levels 2 & 5 and including Lunch Room and Washroom Renovations (Level 2 washroom/vestibule only).
 
The procurement is not anticipated to involve negotiation.  An electronic auction is not anticipated.  
 
ADDRESS AND FINAL DATE FOR SUBMISSIONS
Submissions must be submitted electronically at https://utoronto.bonfirehub.ca/opportunities/19155 on or before 12 December, 2018 @ 2:00:00 PM local time.
 
The submissions will not be opened publicly.
 
CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION
The procurement is subject to the following conditions for participation:

1. Mandatory Site Visit – 28 November, 2018 @ 10:00 AM Eastern Time.  Meeting Location: Meet at W.G. Davis Building, Main Level next to Tim Hortons, UTM Campus, 3359 Mississauga Rd., Mississauga, ON, L5L1C6, http://map.utoronto.ca/utm/building/313 . The site visit is intended for bidders to carefully examine the site and note the conditions affecting the work prior to the Tender submission. Alternative date will not be provided for the Mandatory Site Visit.
2. Insurance Certificate re: $5M General Liability and $5M Automotive (Umbrella)
3. WSIB Certificate of Clearance
4. 5% Bid Bond and Surety re: 50% Performance Bond, 50% Labour and Material Bond
5. Conform to all General Labour Conditions as outlined in Appendix A – General Terms and Conditions.

• All Shop Drawings and Submittals (first submission) to be submitted to UTM / Consultants within one week of contract being awarded;
• Construction Schedule to be submitted to UTM / Consultants by Monday, December 17th;
• Earliest Start Date for Demolition work – Friday, December 21st at 5:00pm (TBD);
• All demolition work and floor prep work (including grinding) for new flooring in corridors to be completed by end of Sunday, January 6th;
• Substantial Completion – Construction – March 16th 2019 (TBD);
• Fixed Furniture Installation – week of March 18th to 22nd (TBD with Furniture Vendor);
• Construction Completion – March 29th 2019 (TBD);
