Strides Toronto is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP), in accordance with its organizational procurement policy, for experienced consultants to support the organization in its quest to build an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, equitable, diverse and inclusive organizational culture and practices through knowledge and skill building.
Health equity and the social determinants of health are foundational to the organization's strategic plan. Ensuring that the organization’s internal environment (e.g., the culture of the organization, its human resources, its approach to leadership and management, the organization's governance) and its externally facing work (e.g., services offered, partnerships, system and policy work) are anti-racist and anti-oppressive is a significant priority for the organization. An EDI organizational review was conducted in 2021 which led to the creation of an organization-wide EDI plan. The review identified the need to institute a comprehensive orientation and training program to ensure that all staff, management and the board have the knowledge and skills to be leaders in this work. This will be a multi-year initiative that will include creating tools and systems for ensuring knowledge and skills developed are integrated into the day-to-day work of the organization at all levels.
Interested candidates must have demonstrated ability to provide a range of training and educational support to all staff in the organization as well as the board of directors, to reach the capacity building goals of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and commitment to excellence through continuous improvement.
