11-2019 - Engineering Services to Update a Municipal Drain Report

The Township of South Glengarry is inviting proposals to provide professional drainage engineering services for the development of a Drainage Report under Section 78 of the Drainage Act, R.S.O. 1990.

The existing Engineer’s Report(s) for the Filion Municipal drain were prepared under the previous 1970 Drainage Act where culverts were an owner’s responsibility to maintain. This drain has approximately 30 large arch pipes and the Municipality wishes to have the culverts incorporated as part of the drainage works and eligible for grant. Due to severances, amalgamation of properties etc., the number of culverts under a new report will likely be reduced to approximately 21. New assessment schedule(s) will need to be developed to allocate costs on the drain as the current schedule is not fair or usable.
