Description

SFU is seeking to select a proponent with the capability and experience to provide efficiently and cost-effectively all of the total compensation consulting services listed below (on as & when required basis) for exempt and unionized employees. The work is to be performed by the Proponent virtually.

The objective of these consulting services is to ensure efficient, clear and effective compensation related programs, processes & systems that enable the attraction & retention of the best diverse and inclusive talent. While the majority of SFU’s compensation services are currently supported by an internal team, the proponent would be brought in to support when departments require urgent or expedited services, to seamlessly support internal team resources with day-to-day programs and / or projects. Job evaluations are conducted internally by SFU.

The University is looking for a Proponent to provide the following compensation consulting services (on as & when required basis):

- - Job description writing services
  - Organizational structure and job design support
  - Total Compensation Projects support

1. Proponents to provide Job design support including job description writing services as listed below:

a. Work with Strategic Business Partners and leaders, support leaders in defining job requirements and writing of job descriptions, following SFU’s job descriptions guidelines and formats.

2. Proponents to provide Organizational Structure & Job design support as listed below:

a. Provide expert advice on &/or lead organizational structure initiatives with Simon Fraser University's Strategic Business Partners and leaders to design structures that meet the needs of the organization and their objectives.

b. Design processes and guidelines for completing organizational structure changes specific to the
organization’s and/or collective agreement(s) needs.

c. Work with Strategic Business Partners and leaders to create re-organization implementation and communication plans.

3. Proponents to provide Total Compensation Projects that may include, but not limited to the list below:

a. Provide expert advice, consultation and recommendation on total compensation policies, processes and practices.

b. Provide expert advice, consultation and recommendation on public sector/ post-secondary exempt salary structure.

c. Provide regular updates, advice and best industry practice on public sector/ post-secondary exempt and unionized compensation trends and legislative changes.

d. Support market survey data collection and analysis, using either customized or general market surveys.

e. Appeal processes

f. Developing standardized job descriptions for common roles

g. Salary surveys

h. Total compensation philosophy, strategy & program review/redesign

i. Pay analysis and salary structure design

j. Executive compensation

k. Board & Compensation Committee preparation

l. HR technology implementation

m. Equity program design and administration

n. Local regulatory compensation advice
