2018-AC-175 - SFU Campus Public Safety Services

This is a 3 year agreement to provide campus public safety services to Simon Fraser University at 3 campuses: Burnaby, Vancouver, and Surrey. 

The public post-secondary environment is a unique context for campus public safety and security services. Campuses are typically open to the public 24/7, made up of very diverse populations and present special challenges to safety and risk management.
Simon Fraser University Campus Public Safety (CPS) is a hybrid campus public safety and resource protection department providing services to three lower mainland campuses and a community population of about 41,700 students, staff, and faculty, including a year-round student residence precinct of 1,400 residents (to expand over time to 4500 residents) and over $2 billion in infrastructure and assets.  CPS operations requires contracted security services Supplier to supply three campus teams (Burnaby, Surrey, Vancouver) of Campus Public Safety Officers (CPSO) staff to provide specialized 24 hours/7 days per week campus public safety, risk management and resource protection services, and that is accountable through key performance indicators and incorporation of continuous improvement.

The security services Supplier will support the public safety, risk management and resource protection operations of the SFU CPS department.  The Supplier must be client-focused, and provide innovative, proactive full-range security risk mitigation services to further enhance the safety and security of a three-campus university community.  CPSO staff assigned to the contract must be of a high professional caliber, suited to the unique public safety and resource protection needs of the environment specific to a post-secondary campus setting, with a focus on excellence in proactive service planning and service delivery.  The Supplier will support the CPS department’s vision of being the best campus public safety agency in the province.
