Description

Simon Fraser University (SFU) currently has 54 washing machines and 73 dryers for the residence buildings listed in Schedule “A”. For the Term of the Contract, SFU will require the same number of washing machines and dryers for the current residence halls. The machines specification are listed in Schedule “B”.
In January 2021, we will be expanding our residence community to include 2 new residence halls that are currently under construction within the Residence precinct on the West side of campus. This “Phase 1 project” includes two (2) Residence halls that will house a total of 482 student residents. (The “Phase 1” floor plan for this is available in a separate document). Phase 1 will require an additional 22 washing machines and 22 dryers, which will be included in the Deliverables.
In addition, 90 units (includes 2 bedroom, 1 bedroom and studio apartments) intended for student family housing will be built in a residence hall located on University Crescent which is on the far East side of SFU’s Burnaby campus. This project is currently known as Parcel 21 (the floor plan is attached within a separate document). Parcel 21 will require an additional 10 washing machines and 10 dryers, which will be included in the Deliverables.
The estimated annual gross sales for the past two years for the existing laundry facilities are $120,000 each year.
