Description

The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to invite a Project Team comprised of Architectural,
Interior Design, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical and other consultants the Proponent deem
necessary to provide professional services for the delivery of student residences, to submit a proposal
for the provision of Architect/Prime Consultant Services to Simon Fraser University (SFU or the
University) for the SFU Residence Development – Phase 3 (the Project) at the Burnaby Mountain
Campus.

The scope of this RFP includes the site planning for Phase 3 & 4 Residences and comprehensive design services for the Phase 3 Residence of the SFU Residence Redevelopment project at the Burnaby campus. The intent is to complete site planning, and schematic design in order to obtain a reliable Class C cost estimate and complete the Business Case for Phase 3 of the SFU Residences Redevelopment.

Please take note that November 29, 2019 is the intended SFU Approval to Contract Award subject to change, see project schedule details in the RFP.

Event Note

A non-mandatory information session will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. The
purpose of the information session will be for the University to provide an overview of the RFP intent
and invite questions that proponents may have about the Project. Attendance by Proponents is
strongly encouraged.

Proponents are to meet at the Facilities Services Lunch Room. Those attending are instructed to park
in the Easy pay lot, not in the Facilities Services parking lot. A tour of the proposed sites will follow.
Attendance should be limited to two individuals representing each interested proponent.
