Description

The RFP is an invitation to submit offers for the provision of General Contractor’s Services for Renovation of Harbour Centre 1700 Lecture Theatre, located on the main floor of the Habour Centre at downtown Vancouver.
Simon Fraser University is located on British Columbia's west coast, and boasts three distinctive campuses, Burnaby, Vancouver and Surrey. SFU is Canada’s leading comprehensive research university and is ranked one of the top universities in the world. SFU has eight faculties, delivers almost 150 programs to over 35,000 students and boasts more than 130,000 alumni in 130 countries around the world.
The key of the renovation work is to upgrade the theatre with a better acoustic environment in the Lecture Hall. The scope of work is to include replacing the ceiling and wall in the Lecture Hall with acoustic materials, replacing the floor finishes to all areas, expanding the entry and storage areas, revamping the existing projection room, replacing the existing seating with new, and enhancing the presentation furniture.
Mechanical – New linear diffuser including plenum and fire protection re‐configuration.
Electrical – New strip lighting and conduits and Audio Video system.

A pre-proposal session and site visit will be conducted to provide an overview of the project and the procurement process.
Proponents are strongly encouraged to attend the session to obtain information about the procurement process and to provide an opportunity to ask questions. SFU’s representatives will also be present to answer questions on the project deliverables.
Proponents are encouraged to send their critical key personnel that will be responsible for running/managing this project/service to this session.
Attendance at this session and site visit is not mandatory, but highly encouraged. The pre-proposal session will be conducted at:
