This Request for Proposals (“Request for Proposals” or “RFP”) is an invitation by Simon Fraser University (“SFU” or the “University”) to prospective proponents (“Proponents”) to submit proposals (“Proposals”) for the supply and installation of furniture package for furnishing of the newly renovated Levels 9000 and 10000 of Applied Science Building-north(the “Project”), as further described in this RFP, at SFU’s Burnaby campus address at 8888 University Drive, Burnaby, BC.
Applied Science Building (ASB) is located on the Burnaby Mountain campus of Simon Fraser University. The renovation work is carried out on the north section of the building at Levels 9000 and 10000 and accessible by south-west loading dock and freight elevator at Level 8000.
The scope of work involves building envelope renewal; and tenant improvement with a 900SM of expansion to L9000 and L10000, north side of the building. The renovation capitalizes on consolidating administrative spaces onto L10000 to streamline operations, and L9000 makerspaces and learning spaces to showcase work of students and foster collaboration within Faculty of Applied Science (FAS) students and community. The vacated administrative offices provide swing spaces for future phases.
The purpose of this process is to provide new, functional, institutional quality and durable furnishings for the newly renovated Applied Science Levels 9000 and 10000 space. The new space at Level 9000 comprises seminar and meeting room and maker space. The latter space will be furnished at a later phase and not included in the scope of this RFP. The administrative space at L10000 comprises private offices, shared offices, open workspaces, meeting rooms, private phone booth, reception area, printer rooms, prep room and a lunch room.
Refer to Appendix A for the project schedule and full operation of the newly renovated space is 1st week of September 2021, start of Fall classes. Completion of product installation shall include rectification of all furniture deficiency work.
