Description

This Request for Proposals (“RFP”) is an invitation by Simon Fraser University (“SFU”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for the provision of an District Energy Savings Consulting Services as further described in the Deliverables Part II of RFP.

SFU is a comprehensive public university located in British Columbia, Canada. Established in 1965, SFU has been ranked as one of Canada’s top three comprehensive universities for nearly 20 years.

A central hot water heating system was developed as part of the original legacy of the campus. The system has expanded over the years as the campus has grown. Various satellite boilers exist campus wide for peak heating needs and back-up during shutdowns. The growth of campus has seen many changes in mechanical design to the system. In 2020, a new biomass plant was brought online as a way to work towards achieving the University’s Sustainability targets. It’s critical to engage an established qualified consulting firm to study the existing central heating hot water system and provide recommendations for modernization, optimization, and expansion.

The contract term of the agreement is for a period of 6 months. It is anticipated that the agreement will be executed in July/August 2021.
