Description

SFU is looking to purchase two isotope ratio mass spectrometer systems as the key instruments in a ‘next generation isotope fingerprinting’ analytical suite. The first isotope ratio mass spectrometer system will be dedicated to producing isotope ratio measurements of carbon, nitrogen, sulphur, hydrogen and oxygen, primarily for organic sample materials. The second system will be used for the compound specific isotope measurement of the isotope ratio of carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen and oxygen in organics (primarily proteins and lipids), and this system will also include a stand-alone GC-MS for pre-screening samples.

Suppliers can bid on either system, although it would be preferred to have a single supplier for both. In addition, if appropriate each of the two different systems could include more than one mass spectrometer.
