Description

SFU is seeking a controlled atmosphere system for culturing and experimentally manipulating cultured cells under strictly controlled oxygen, carbon dioxide and temperature. Specifically, we will treat cultured cells with hypoxia (down to 0.1% atmospheric oxygen) and temperature changes (~35-45C) in order to mirror physiological and stress conditions. These experiments may last several days to several weeks, thus requiring that the cells be cultured within the system.

Total maximum available budget is $63,000 USD inclusive of taxes, import duties, delivery, and warranty. The funding for this instrument is part of a larger CFI project. SFU encourages proponents to provide a minimum 20% in-kind contribution.
