2018-LS-194 - Electronic Data Management System

SFU is seeking an Electronic Data Management System to enable the storing, retrieving, and processing of data generated from a variety of equipment in an undergraduate teaching laboratory.
The data management system should systematically provide a unique nomenclature (e.g., file name and meta data) for each of the student data files (e.g., individual spectra or chromatograms). This nomenclature should enable sorting, file access permissions, searching, and other aspects of data management outlined herein.
The data must be securely stored and managed. The data must be visible and retrieved (downloaded, but not modified; that is keeping the original on the server) only to parties with appropriate permissions (e.g., students see their own data; instructors see the class data; administrators can see data from multiple classes).
The data must be able to be sorted based on the student who generated the data, the laboratory section, the class (e.g., course number, year and semester), the type of experiment, and related search criteria.
