The school of Mechatronic Systems Engineering needs to purchase a Smart Industrial Automation Training System which can be used in the new professional master’s program for Industry 4.0. The training system consists of several stations that form a complete smart industrial production line. The system simulates a highly automated smart factory, including Industry 4.0 technologies, advanced manufacturing concepts and the reality of the connected enterprise. The system has many features like connected and open system, Plug & Play, Flexible, Modular, Real process, management software (MES), IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) and Ideal for academics and research. The system allows the production of single unit containers and pack of containers. For the single unit containers, the customer triggers the order for X recipients assigning each of them a recipe. For the packs of containers, the customer triggers the order for X packs with the specific containers needed. The system can dispatch single unit containers, packs of containers and pallets of packs. Multiple product configurations are available from this system like shape of the container: square and circular sections, Type of content: solid, liquid, and customized, content configuration: colour, filling level, mixing ratio and configuring number of containers in each pack and number of packs in the final pallet.
It is SFU’s intention to award a contract to Alpha Educational & Technological Solutions Inc. (sales rep of SMC International) to purchase the Smart Industrial Automation Training System.
