SFU has a requirement for a Core Scanner for high resolution imaging of sediment cores and for obtaining elemental geochemical data that will be used broadly for paleoenvironmental analysis.
It is SFU’s intention to award a contract for an ITRAX Core Scanner to Cox Analytical Systems.
This purchase is part of an integrated coastal hazards facility for the characterization of geological and environmental data and is funded by Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) and the BC provincial government. As of the issuing date of this ACAN an application for the funds has been approved. All purchases pertaining to this research project are subject to availability of funds associated with this project.
An ACAN is a public notice indicating to the supplier community that SFU intends to award a contract for goods, services, or construction to a pre-identified supplier, thereby allowing other suppliers to signal their interest in bidding, by submitting a statement of capabilities. If no supplier submits a Statement of Capabilities that meets the requirements set out in the ACAN, on or before the submission deadline stated in the ACAN, SFU may then proceed with the award to the pre-identified supplier. If other potential suppliers submit Statements of Capabilities during the posting period, and meet the requirements set out in this ACAN, SFU may proceed to a Request for Proposal process.
