Health Professional Services for Peer Support Training and Oversight

RFP to secure the services of an experienced mental health professional/peer support specialist to support the maintenance and delivery of the Peer Support Program for the staff of the Emergency Health Services Division program areas which include Program Management and Delivery Branch, Regulatory and Accountability Branch, Health Services Cluster and the Psychiatric Patient Advocate office
Scope of Work
Experienced Mental Health and Program oversight support from the vendor, A Mental Health Professional and Peer Support Specialist with the requisite certifications for the continued maintenance and development of an already existing Peer Support Program.
Frontline divisional employees are regularly exposed to vicarious trauma through interactions with callers seeking emergency assistance, conducting investigations or post incident debrief situations.
The Vendor will provide annual training for new and returning Peer Supporters. Each training course will be approximately 5 days in duration.
The Vendor will provide counselling/consultation to the Program's Peer Supporters on an on-call /as required basis. The vendor will also develop and lead a half day orientation session for branch managers. This session will be held at a central GTA location or conducted by teleconference. The Vendor will conduct quarterly meetings with the program coordinator and members of the peer support team to discuss activities, identify trends and emerging issues. The Vendor will review Peer Support Program activities on an annual basis and make appropriate recommendations to sustain and improve the program.
