PWGSC has hired Pomerleau Inc. to provide Construction Management (CM) services for the expansion of the Mississauga Lab Facility located at 2620 Speakman Drive, Mississauga, Ontario.
The project consists of the addition of a third and fourth level to the building. A fit-up of the existing second floor and new third floor spaces will be completed to accommodate specialized laboratories, clean rooms, open workstations, enclosed offices and support spaces. The fourth floor will consist of a mechanical penthouse, storage spaces and a roof-top patio green space . A central feature staircase will be installed leading to the new rooftop patio. Building mechanical and electrical systems will be expanded and modified to accommodate the additional lab and office spaces and to meet building sustainability goals.
Construction works related to the structure and envelope of this project are currently in progress with the work related to this pre-qualification expected be undertaken between September 2021 and April 2023. The Ground floor of the Building will be occupied with client science activities in progress for the entire construction period. Work will be well coordinated in advance with Pomerleau and Clients to minimize impacts to building occupants.
The objective of this Request for Qualification is to receive and assess submissions from interested Trade Partners for the purposes of pre-qualifying firms that will be permitted to provide bid pricing for the execution and delivery of the laboratory facility in Mississauga.
It is Pomerleau’s objective to provide an opportunity to retain Trade Partners with demonstrated expertise in the construction of projects of similar scope and complexity. Previous experience in the following areas will be considered an asset :
· Work in laboratories,
· Work in secure facilities
· Work in occupied facilities
· Expansion of operating facilities
· Modification and expansion of in-service buildings systems
