Description

Background

University of Waterloo’s Housing Department:

Has built, operates and maintains 40 institutional buildings and 350 townhouses representing approximately 30% of the total UW building space.
Operates a network of almost 5000 workstations. This represents 25% of the total of UW workstations. Over 7000 residence workstations must be installed each year - representing 70% of the total UW activity. The residence network accounts for approximately 40% of the UW activity.
Employs 100 full-time staff, and close to 300 student staffs including Dons, Peer Leaders, Residence Ambassadors, and the Front Desk Assistants.
Supplies four million bed nights per year with all the marketing, admissions, programming, supervision, cleaning, and administration involved in that volume.
Accommodates 7500 single students and 250 families yearly. Thirty percent of all UW undergrads stay in a UW residence.

University of Waterloo’s Housing department is looking to collaborate with a Successful Respondent that has the capability to provide professional Carpet Steam Cleaning Services on an annual basis. Not all buildings are cleaned annually or at the same frequency. A schedule will be provided stating which buildings are to be cleaned each year.
Carpet Steam Cleaning Services shall be performed each summer between May 1 and August 31 and as further outlined within this RFP.

1. May 10 has been set aside for site visits to allow potential bidders the opportunity to view UW Residences and obtain a better understanding of the requirements of this RFP. Please ensure you follow the rules of engagement for this site visit as outlined in the RFP.
2. Bids and RFP Submissions must be submitted through the Bonfire portal as outlined in this RFP.
3. Submissions sent in via Merx will not be accepted.
