The Unversity of Ottawa is pleased to invite qualified proponents to submit a proposal for a laser that will be used for driving two optical parametric amplifiers (OPA). The OPA outputs serve as seed pulses for a high-power mid-infared laser system. The laser needs to produce two outputs at the same time. Each channel is to deliver no less than 2 mJ, pulses shorter than 250 fs, at 5 kHz. The carrier-envelope phase of the pulses from at least one of the channels must be stabliized.
Mandatory Requirements:
1. Yb CPA Laser
1.1 Pulse Duration full width at half maximum (FWHM) must be: 100 fs ≤ t ≤ 250 fs.
1.2 Central Wavelength λc must = 1030 ± 50nm.
1.3 Pulse Energy (Single Shot to 5 kHz) must be either two channels where E ≥ 2 mJ for each channel, or one channel where E ≥ 4 mJ
1.4 The laser must be capable of achieving two outputs simultaneously.
1.5 Repetition rate must be: 1 Hz ≤ frep ≤ 50 kHz.
1.6 Power stability must be < 0.5 % Root Mean Square (RMS)
1.7 Output beam quality must be M2 <1.3
1.8 Polarization must be Linear
1.9 Power must be either 120 VAC or 208 VAC, single phase, <2 kHz
1.10 Pulse selection: any base repetition rate division (the repetition rate can be the maximum value divided by any power of 2; such as 2,4,8, etc.)
1.11 The carrier-envelope phase of the pulses from a minimum of one channel must be stabilized. Said stabilization of the slow-loop carrier envelope phase must be < 350 mrad RMS.
1.12 Oscillator carrier envelope phase standard deviation must be < 150 mrad
1.13 Must include either an air-to-water cooled chiller suitable for instrument.
2. Other Requirements
2.1 Installation and training must be included.
2.2 The instrument must operate for a minimum of 8 consecutive hours; 5 days per week.
2.3 Must include one (1) year warranty on parts and labor.
2.4 Must be capable of providing up to a total of 5 years of extended warranty.
2.5 All electrical components must have CSA (Canadian Standards Association) certification or accepted equivalent as per Electrical Safety Authority Recognized Certification Mark at the following link: https://esasafe.com/electrical-products/recognized-certification-marks/ Otherwise, all electrical components must be able to undergo the applicable electrical inspection, and/or, certification, without voiding the system warranty.
