The Services and Deliverables to be provided by the supplier will include the following:
The supplier will recruit participants (Canadians aged 70 years or more), conduct phone surveys, collect data stemming from surveys and provide data as well as data report for two pan-Canadian studies starting January 2024 and ending in December 2026. Phone surveys (approximately 20 minutes) must be conducted with 3000 participants for the first study and 9000 participants (in total) for the second study. Samples of participants should aim to be representative of the population, in terms of official languages (French and English), geography, age, and ethnicity. The voice of Indigenous seniors must also be included in both studies.
Upon signature of the contract, parties will agree on the specifics of the schedule regarding deliverables.
As an example, for year 1 (2024), deliverables for the longitudinal study include:
- Finalize content of the phone survey with uOttawa and uSherbrooke team representatives; January 2024
- Program the phone survey and, if applicable, its web version in both languages; February 2024
- Produce sampling; March-April 2024
- Carry out data collection; May-June-July 2024
- Clean and produce SPSS and Excel databases (one with weighted scores and one with no weighted scores); August-September 2024
- Produce a methodological report; October 2024
Mandatory Requirements:
1. Canadians interviewed must be 70 years of age or older
2. A minimum of 3000 participants for the first year of the first study; taking account of attrition, a minimum of 1500 participants (taken from the initial pool of 3000 participants should be included in year two and 800 in year three.
3. A minimum 3000 participants must be interviewed each year for a total of 9000 at the end of the 3-year term of second study.
4. Both studies must be conducted simultaneously
5. The services provided (including, but not limited to, interviews) must be available in both English and French
6. A minimum of 300 Indigenous seniors must be included in both studies.
