1. Introduction
This Request for Information (“RFI”) is issued by the University of Ottawa (the “University”) for the purposes of gathering information about the marketplace in order to assist in the determination of future purchasing options or requirements for the organization and management of the 2024 International Conference on the Physics of Semiconductors (ICPS), scientific conference to be held from July 28 to August 2, 2024, at the Shaw Centre, Ottawa. Participation in this RFI is completely optional and is not a requirement to participate in a potential future RFP.
2. Background
Founded in 1848, the University of Ottawa is the largest French-English bilingual university in the world. Its student enrollment is 45,000 strong.
Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) Commission on Semiconductors in conjunction with the University of Ottawa in collaboration with the National Research Council of Canada and Carleton University.
The ICPS conference is a bi-annual conference rotating between Asia, North and South America and Europe. It is expected to attract about 800 international scientists from around the world.
3. Format
The format of the University’s discussions with Respondents will be via email followed by conference calls, on a “1-on-1” basis, between each Respondent and the University. The University anticipates spending about one hour on each call. The content and topics of the strategy discussions are shown in Section 3 – Questions for Suppliers. The University is not requesting a formal written response to these questions or topics (as is common in most RFI’s) but welcome informal suggestions and comments. The University tentatively plans to schedule the discussions the week of November 14, 2022.
