FOR RYERSON UNIVERSITY

DESIGN SERVICES FOR THE GERRARD PROJECT

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) #RFP 2021-101-AW

Please note this is not an RFP. No RFP is attached.

Ryerson University advises prospective suppliers that it intends to post a non-binding Request for Proposal (RFP) as noted above on Merx.

The objective of the RFP is to award a Professional Services Agreement to one (1) qualified prime consultant for the provision of prime consulting and design services for the new academic building located at 101-111 Gerrard St E (“Gerrard Project”). The work will be performed in the following three (3) stages:

Stage One: Concept Design and Municipal Approvals;
Stage Two: Detailed Design and modifications for SPA (NOAC); and
Stage Three: Construction, Commissioning and Warranty Period.

As the development strategy for design and construction is not yet determined at the time of the issuance of this RFP, the Successful Proponent’s role in the Project following Stage One may change depending on the method of contract or development decided upon by Ryerson. The evolution of the Project may result in changes to the Successful Proponent’s Work, including but not limited to, the approach of the design assignment, the nature and/or quantity of the Deliverables, the form of the Final Agreement and/or the associated fees. An example of a change in the Successful Proponent’s Work is a transition into a compliance role for a partnered-development.

It is anticipated that the RFP will be posted on Merx within the next few weeks (currently aiming for the week of October 12, 2021) with an anticipated award occurring on or before end of December 2021.

The posting date and time are subject to change at the sole and absolute discretion of Ryerson University.

This procurement is subject to the Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive, Broader Chapter Five – Government Procurement of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA), Chapter Nineteen – Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) and the Ontario-Quebec Trade and Cooperation Agreement.
