Description:
This Request for Proposal is an invitation to prospective Proponents for submissions to provide the cleaning and custodial services required for the Ryerson campus comprised of a number of the university’s owned buildings.
 
To gain a better understanding of the work sites, all Proponents are encouraged to attend the scheduled Site Visit on January 30, 2018 at 9:00 a.m.  The Site Visit is not mandatory for Proposal submission.  Proponents are to sign in with the Ryerson Purchasing Officer at 285 Victoria Street, first floor lobby area (refer to www.ryerson.ca/maps).
 
Ryerson is located in the downtown area of Toronto, Ontario expanding from College and Carlton streets on the north to Queen Street on the south, and from Jarvis Street to University Avenue.  The campus is comprised of owned, leased and rented facilities managed by the Facilities Management and Development office.  The Ryerson community includes staff, faculty, full and part-time students, including continuing education students, and external visitors to the campus on a daily basis.
 
Ryerson currently owns and maintains three (3) residence buildings:  O’Keefe House (OKF) at 137 Bond Street, Pitman Hall (PIT) at 160 Mutual Street and the International Living/Learning Centre (ILC) at 240 Jarvis Street.  The services at these buildings are under separate contract and not included in this RFP.

Conditions for Participation:
The Successful Proponent shall provide management supervision and labour resources for the cleaning and custodial services required for the Ryerson campus within university owned buildings.
 
The Successful Proponent shall provide continuance of employment for the current employees pursuant to s.77(1) of the Employment Standards Act, 2000 SO 2000, c41.  The Successful Proponent shall be responsible for all payroll and benefits to all personnel required for the Deliverables. The workers providing these services are considered "Building Service Providers" under the Employment Standards Act.  The Successful Proponent will be required to either hire these employees or pay them severance.
 
Insurance Requirements

1. Commercial general liability insurance on an occurrence basis for third party bodily injury, personal injury and property damage, to an inclusive limit of not less than $5,000,000 per occurrence and including products and completed operations liability. 

1. Professional liability insurance containing at least $2,000,000 limit of coverage for all persons and services connected with this Agreement.

1. Crime insurance that includes an extension that provides coverage for theft of third party property (or equivalent coverage such as that referred to as a Janitorial Bond), acceptable to Ryerson in the amount of not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence in respect of the Deliverables provided pursuant to the Agreement.
