OBJECTIVE
This Supplier-Qualification is to solicit information from interested proponents seeking to provide the services of qualified Consultants and Design firms in the following area:

Prime Consultant - Architectural Firm for McMaster Manufacturing Research Institute (MMRI) – Advanced Manufacturing Centre.

Note: This Request For Supplier-Qualification will not be used to replace any competitive bid process. It will, however, be used to short list firms for a subsequent competitive bid process. By responding to this supplier-qualification, the interested parties agree and consent to the terms. Firms qualified authorize McMaster University to publish their names in public documents

The Supplier-Qualification and any responses thereto do not impose any obligation or constitute any commitment of the part of McMaster University to issue a RFP related to the construction of the project, to enter into contract(s) with one or more parties, or to make any award of business to any respondent.

Inclusion on the List does not preclude a party from working for any potential supplier on projects involving McMaster. However, if and when a party on the List enters into a contract with McMaster, the advisor, its firm and potential affiliates may be restricted from working for any potential bidder on that project or other projects in which McMaster is involved. Any such restrictions will be determined on a case-by-case basis and will depend on the nature of work undertaken through the contract.

New information added May 11/18
McMaster is planning to renovate a portion of a warehouse to further the University’s pursuit of research in liaison with industry in Advanced Manufacturing. It is estimated that the work will amount to $7M in construction costs.
The location of the existing warehouse to accommodate for McMaster Manufacturing Research Institute at McMaster Innovation Park is located at 270 Longwood Road S, Hamilton ON.

The project is the construction of a second floor slab in an existing warehouse to create level 1 and level 2 fit-out space. The anticipated construction area for this second floor is approximately30,000 sq.ft.

The project also includes the fit-out of space for McMaster Manufacturing Research Institute to accommodate machinery, machine shop ancillary space, as well as some administration and office area.. The anticipated construction area for this fit-out is 18,000 sq.ft. and is included within the footprint of the 30,000 sq.ft noted above.
