LL 06-19/746 - Multiplexed Ion Beam Imaging System

The Multiplexed Ion Beam Imaging System is required to be able to combine high multiplexing capability (40+ markers simultaneously) with high resolution and high sensitivity. 
The complexity of the tissue microenvironment presents challenges for understanding not only which cell types are present but what is their intensity and where they are located spatially in relation to one another.  The ability of multiplexed ion beam imaging (MIBI) to produce highly multiplexed images is critical because of the large number of cell types present. These markers that define the cell types are present in a wide range of expression levels so it is also very important that low expressing markers can be identified and SIMS-based systems provide the required high sensitivity.
