Centennial College is seeking to hire the services of a Consulting Firm to complete a Quality Assurance Assessment. The assessment will determine if the College is adhering to compliance and policy in all the service processes, determine best practices and process gaps, and will provide recommendations and advice through a framework that not only supports best practices but also introduces policies, processes that quantify and ensure quality assurance in higher education.
The Assessment will identify a Quality Assurance Framework and processes that align standards and quality outcomes applicable at a post-secondary institution, responsive to the structure, services offered, and ‘nature of the business” at the College. The QAA will provide recommendations on how a Quality Assurance Framework and, quality assurance processes will be implemented firstly as a pilot with one department, as well as implementation of the Framework college-wide.
As part of its assessment, the vendor must address the following research areas and answer the following demonstrative questions:
a) Is the College adhering to compliance and policy in all service processes completed?
b) What are best practices for quality assurance in higher education?
c) How can quality in academics and services be assessed differently?
d) What Quality Assurance Framework and processes will work for the College?
e) What does implementation as a pilot first for one department, and then college-wide look like?
Assessors must solicit opinions from diverse stakeholders. Findings and recommendations must identify frameworks and processes to strengthen the quality assurance process. Based on the findings and conclusions, the Consulting Firm must provide recommendations to the College which must be included in the Final Report addressing:
- Recommendations on a Quality Assurance Framework and processes responsive to the College’s specific structure, services offered and “nature of the business” at the College.
- Recommendations on how to implement the recommended Quality Assurance Framework and processes initially through a pilot with one department and upon success introduced college-wide.
