7071-2022/23 - INDIGENOUS (FIRST NATIONS) COMMUNITIES ENGAGEMENT ON CLIMATE ADAPTATION PROJECT

The Government of Manitoba, as represented by the Minister of Environment,
Climate and Parks, requests Proposals from qualified Proponents meeting the
requirements contained in this Request for Proposals (RFP) to:
-From the perspective of First Nations, gather a better understanding of
observed and anticipated climate impacts, current capacity for action, and
status of climate adaptation planning initiatives to enhance climate resiliency
within Manitoba First Nations.
-Assess the level of First Nation uptake of federal government, provincial
government and other funding programs to support climate adaptation.
-Support Manitoba’s efforts to advance Reconciliation in action by helping the
provincial government build relationships and engagement with First Nation
communities to identify and prioritize opportunities for further climate action.
- Provide reports of project deliverables and recommendations for further
actions needed to help enhance the climate resiliency of Manitoba First
Nations. Recommendations to include how to incorporate FN perspectives in
the adaptation plan.
