6962-2022/23 - Helicopter Flying Services for the Manitoba Geological Survey

The Manitoba Geological survey, part of Natural Resources and Northern Development
is seeking wet hourly rate bid for a Bell 206B Jet Long Ranger for a project based in Leaf
Rapids, northern Manitoba. The needs are for a Bell 206B Jet Long Ranger equipped with
skids. The professional flying services are required to conduct the project based in Leaf
Rapids, Manitoba (see area outlined in black tiles 1-7 of Fig. 1), in the month of August
2022 using a Bell 206B Jet Long Ranger equipped with skids, whichever machine is most
appropriate for the job. The flight distance is approximately 40 km from Leaf Rapids to
the mapping site. A fuel cache may be set out on or near Leaf Rapids. Much of the
work will involve transporting one mapping crew (3 people with day backpacks not
exceeding 40 lbs each) between multiple sites over the course of a single day; site
spacing will be highly variable and will involve small landing spaces. At each site, the
field crew will collect samples of rock (maximum of 50 lbs of rock samples daily) to be
transported to the Leaf Rapids base.
