NSY Alternate Dock Automated Mooring
Marine Atlantic Inc. (MAI) invites offers from qualified Vendors for the NSY Alternate Dock Automated Mooring.
The project is located at the Marine Atlantic Ferry Terminal site in North Sydney, Nova Scotia.
The Work generally includes, but it is not necessarily limited to:
General:
Concrete removals as required for installation of new automated mooring units, bulbous bow fender, copewall and fender buttresses.
Replacement of an existing landing and stair system at existing Moorex Unit #2.
Any and all removals, modifications and replacement of existing dock systems/structures necessary to complete the work of this contract including electrical, water services and metal guardrail.
Relocation of an existing water station, including heat tracing, located adjacent to the Shoreward Automated Mooring Unit.
Relocation of existing tidal monitoring station, including electrical and communications, located adjacent to the Shoreward Automated Mooring Unit.
Automated Mooring:
Installation of a reinforced concrete base slab to support each of the automated mooring units.
Installation of reinforced concrete retaining walls and concrete plinths on top of the mooring unit base slabs.
Installation of a steel platform adjacent to the mooring units that will support a machinery house and provide access to the automated mooring unit.
Installation of both electrical power and data to each of the automated mooring units.
Installation of removable guardrails and access ladder to the pits containing the automated mooring unit.
Bulbous Bow Fender
Installation of a reinforced concrete base slab for support of the bulbous bow fender.
Installation of a reinforced concrete buttress slab to support two (2) energy absorbing rubber elements.
Installation of a composite structural steel and reinforced concrete bulbous bow fender complete with UHMW wear pads.
Guide Fenders:
Modification of existing fenders as required to adjust for dock configurations at the automated mooring locations.
Removal, repair and re-installation of existing guide\warping fenders at various locations along the dock. Work will include both owner and this contract supplied equipment.
Replacement of existing reinforced concrete copewall near the outer end of the dock.
Installation of reinforced concrete buttresses in area of copewall replacement for future fender installations.
Marine Atlantic reserves the right to accept tenders in whole or in part. The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
A site visit will be held on December 6, 2017 at 10:00 AM Atlantic time at the site in North Sydney, NS.
The closing for receipt of tenders will be 1400 hours Atlantic Time, December 18, 2017.
Proposals must be submitted by electronic means using the MERX EBS.
This will be the only method of response accepted for consideration. Proposals will not be considered if submitted by fax, email or other open forms of communication. Proposals must be received by the closing date and hour. Late Proposals will not be considered.
