20-007 - REQUEST FOR QUOTATION FOOD TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

The Grand River Hospital is inviting proposals to supply the transportation of patient meal tray carts and general food supplies between the Kitchener-Waterloo Campus and the Freeport Campus. GRH owns the meal tray carts and any general food supplies or bins requiring transportation between the two campuses.

The distance between the two campuses is approximately 12 kilometers.

All patient meal trays are assembled on enclosed stainless steel carts (24 trays per cart) at the Kitchener-Waterloo Campus and delivered to the Freeport Campus site twice a day for same day service.

The delivery vehicle(s) used for transporting food tray carts must have a capacity to hold at least 21 food tray carts (in total) measuring 31.5" W x 33.5" D x 56" H.  Supply bins and containers are delivered to and from each campus as space permits.

The Successful Bidder should be able to accommodate requests from GRH to increase volume requirements. The number of carts required for transport and/or the size of meal carts may increase throughout the term of the agreement.

The service is required for 365 days per year.
Two round trips are required daily to deliver and pick up carts and supply bins to and from each campus.
