EllisDon, on behalf of the McMaster University, is pleased to invite Subcontractors to respond to the Living and Learning Centre (LLC) Request for Subcontractor Pre-qualification (RFSP).
The Living and Learning Centre is a 335,000 SF mixed-use facility and will be located at the north east quadrant of the McMaster Main Campus – Hamilton, Ontario.
The program includes one level of underground parking under 4 floors of academic space which include a variety of teaching spaces, a 650 seat and a 500 seat auditorium, a 400-seat active learning centre, a children’s centre, student health services facilities, and administration offices. Above the 4 academic floors are 8 floors which make up a 500-bed student residence.
The LLC building will utilize mechanical and electrical services from the existing central plant. The building will be constructed with a mix of poured in place concrete on the lower levels and a mix of cast in place concrete and steel framing for the tower. The envelope is a combination of brick, glass and metal siding. Acoustic details are included for the three auditoriums.
The building is targeting LEED Silver.
