Elections Ontario (or “EO”) is a non-partisan agency of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario working under the direction of the Chief Electoral Officer (“CEO”), an officer of the Legislative Assembly. EO is responsible for conducting general elections, by-elections and referenda in accordance with the provisions in the Elections Act and the administration of Election Finances Act.
In preparation for the next provincial general election which will be held in June 2018, EO must train approximately 1278 returning office staff in a class environment prior to the start of the general election. Regional training sessions are tentatively scheduled to be held in March and April, 2018. Most of the training programs that are to be delivered to the returning office staff include both process training and software training. The goal of these training programs is to provide the necessary knowledge and develop the needed skills for temporary election employees located in 124 electoral districts across the province to do their jobs in a manner that will ensure that the electoral process is maintained and electors have a positive voting experience.
For 2018, EO has focused on creating a training program that is easy to deliver and easy to understand. As such, EO is also committed to ensuring that the training delivered is consistent and professional. The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to enter into an agreement with a company(s) or individual that will be able to provide professional training staff to cover the needs and requirements for this project for the upcoming provincial general election in June 2018.
Respondents are asked to reply to EO and submit the information requested within the bid package available from MERX.
