Project Overview
The client is looking for a studio to develop a series of interactive web games to help support the educational development of Ontario French high-school students. A series of games will need to be developed across a wide range of topics such as mathematics, science, geography, civility, etc. The client would like to see game concepts by September 2023 and prototypes and initial game launches in 2024.
Project Goals
Create fun and interactive mini-games (15 to 40 minutes) and modules aligned with Grade 9-12 French-language curriculum
Integrate with Brightspace D2L
Ensure platform security
Provide game concepts by September 1, 2023
Deliver final games in French inside the corresponding course hosted in the D2L Brightspace environment
Scope of Work
The studio is expected to work closely with the client remotely to design and build a series of interactive mini-games and modules that can be played online in a virtual classroom. The studio will be responsible for outlining the project scope in accordance with the client, designing and building all the mini-games and modules including storytelling, programming, art (characters and environments design), animation and sound design. The studio will connect with the client regularly to share progress updates. More concrete details will be provided when the project is awarded.

The timeframe to develop the games are relatively short
The game topics and themes are not finalized
There are no initial concrete ideas on what the gameplays should be
The client has never built a game before
Evaluation Metrics and Criteria
Completing a series of initial games on time and under budget
The games are fun and engaging for 15-17 year old students
The games are secure
The games integrate with D2L Brightspace for student unique identifier
The games have no violence
The games are accessible and respect the client's values regarding diversity, equity and inclusion
The games include aspects of Ontario’s French-language culture
The games present realistic scenarios and are not built in imaginary worlds
