DEFENCE CONSTRUCTION CANADA (DCC) – HAVKN80_74326 – Recap GG56, M, N Style RHUs – Kingston, Ontario
Work for this project comprises the renovation of two (2) "GG56" Style, three (3) "M" Style and one (1) " N" Style, two story residential housing units located in Canadian Forces Base Kingston, Ontario. The existing units were built in the early 1950s and are being reconfigured to be brought up to contemporary standards. The GG56 Style unit is approximately 1010 sq. feet in area with two (2) bedrooms and one (1) full washroom and a basement. The M Style unit is approximately 1275 sq. feet in area with three (3) bedrooms and one (1) full washroom with a crawl space. The N Style unit is approximately 1409 sq. feet in area with four (4) bedrooms and one (1) full washroom with a crawl space. All units will require the removal of drywall, vermiculite, lead paint, and asbestos flooring as hazardous materials. Hazardous materials including lead paint, asbestos, silica, PCBs and mercury are to be abated following Provincial/Federal Regulations. The renovations will include, but are not limited to, the removal of all interior finishes back to studs and subfloor, reconfiguration of interior layouts, new insulation, new interior finishes, new kitchen, new first and second floor bathrooms, new hardwood flooring, ceramic floor tile, new concrete slab in crawl space with new sewer lateral & drain (M&N style only) as well as, new plumbing, heating, A/C and electrical throughout. Work also includes replacement of some windows and doors. Exterior work is involved in closing or modifying doorways and some window locations, it also requires removal of chimneys, some canopies and stoops and installation of new composite material decks off the back of all units.

NOTE: There is no scheduled site visit for this opportunity.
The Work must reach Substantial Completion no later than 203 calendar days after notification of contract award and must be completed no later than 21 calendar days after the date of Substantial Completion. Tenderers are advised that the Work for the first 3 units initiated must be completed by April 17, 2021 with the exception of the composite decks, landscaping and site restoration which must be completed by the Substantial Completion Date.
