The purpose of this RFPI is to solicit information and general feedback from Proponents on capabilities and interest to assist CNL with treating radioactive waste. CNL would appreciate assistance in obtaining information regarding your capability to provide CNL with a best option(s)/technology(s) for processing radioactive liquid waste (LRW) and any resultant secondary wastes at the CRL site.

Introduction
1. Identification of Respondent - Identification of the business(es) including any proposed subcontractors or partners if known
The Respondent
1. Description of Respondents Services - Description of the business(es) including locations, staff, and listing similar projects completed or ongoing.
2. Business Information.
3. Similar Projects - Description of services provided at other sites and nature of services provided at these facilities.
4. Existing accreditation.
Suggested solutions would ideally include the following information:
1. Concurrence that the CRL influent liquid characteristics and volume are compatible with the proposed technology.
2. Processing rate.
3. A list of unacceptable inputs to the processing system and related concentrations.
4. Concurrence that the technology/system will produce a liquid effluent stream that meets the site release criteria in consideration of the CNL liquid waste characterization data [Section 6], with a secondary goal of further reducing effluent activity.
5. Rough estimation of process decontamination factors (DF).
6. Rough estimates of resultant secondary waste generation, container types, and final packaged solid waste volumes (based on external package volume).
7. A brief description of how secondary wastes arising associated with the proposed processing system would be managed.
8. Concurrence that the technology/system is relatively modular in design to allow ease of installation, operation, removal, and expansion or upgrade.
9. Information related to historical processing data, experience and lessons learned from other similar installations and waste streams.
10. Simple one line diagrams of a conceptual design for the processing (pretreatment, treatment, packaging/conditioning) equipment, components, and skids that illustrate to the extent practical:
  1. The proposed layout,
  2. Components,
  3. Shielding panels, and
  4. CNL interfaces by type (e.g., power, water, air, influent, effluent, waste routing).
Conclusions
Order of Magnitude Pricing: We are trying to determine the economics of the Project and seek a rough order of magnitude price for the goods / services associated with the Project. Given the limited information provided by CNL we recognize that it will be difficult for you to be precise and seek only ROM pricing. You should feel free to explain any factors that might increase or decrease the cost and help us make a better decision.
