Description

The project is the delivery of a Sort and Segregation Facility (SSF) for Low Level Waste (LLW) with the potential to expand to Intermediate Level Waste (ILW), by refurbishing the existing B599A building located in Waste Management Area – H (WMA-H).
The project will include the design, procurement, construction, surplus material disposal and commissioning activities to complete the required refurbishment of B599A. Part of the B599A refurbishment includes an extension added onto the east end of the building to be used as a processed waste loading zone, and a Modular Ventilated Enclosure (MVE) within the building.
A separate modular building to be located on the west side of B599A will serve as an office/lunch/shower facility for the support staff that will work at the new sorting facility. The new modular building is included in this project.
The project will include site works, services, road access and a parking area for the facility.
