2016-111 - Cassells Street Traffic Study

As part of the Schedule C, Class EA a Traffic Study is required to demonstrate how various alternatives for widening Cassells Street from King Street West to Hwy 11/17 can be mitigated or addressed to provide a suitable solution to the traffic problems occurring within this transportation corridor. The Traffic Study will identify short term and long term transportation capacity deficiencies and evaluate improvements and measures for the corridor. The intent of the assignment is not to adjust or change the intersection at Hwy 11/17 or King Street but provide improvements that will align with the existing cross-section.
 
The King’s Highway 11/17 in the vicinity of Cassells Street is considered a 1B-Staged Freeway (Access Management Classification System Category) that requires access connection standards applicable to a fully controlled-access highway.
 
The project scope and deliverables will reflect the appropriate requirements of the Ministry of Transportation’s Guidelines for the Preparation of Traffic Impact Studies (September 2014).
